HOPE and its futility

My mind oscillates between hopefulness and its futility

I hope the masses become rational and realize their stupidity soon

But I don’t see it’s happening anytime soon

I hope politicians start doing something to reduce societies’ inequalities soon

But I see them favoring inequality all the time

I hope parents realize their kids are individuals and not an extension of themselves soon

But I see them not letting go off their control over their kids

I hope companies stop virtue signaling and start treating employees as its equal partners soon

But I see them becoming more virulent with their signaling alone

I hope I can stop dreaming and start living in reality soon

But I don’t see it happening ever..
