“Constraints liberate” a quote
Attributed to Wittgenstein
But do they really?
Realizing that one’s capacities are constrained
Could make one unapologetically enthusiastic, or
Could make one irredeemably handicapped
Realizing that one’s freedom is constrained
Could make one unnaturally slavish, or
Could make one uncontrollably fearless
Realizing that one’s time(in the universe) is constrained
Could make one uninhibitedly free, or
Could make one irrevocably dejected
In short constraints don’t liberate, per se
It’s human attitude towards it.
PS : Inspired by this
Ignorance does not help and it is not mere naivety of young age. But it has definite answer to the questions, we pose, muddling endlessly to confuse.
