The Greatest Lie

The greatest lie often told by humans

To other humans who suffer is

“Everything will be alright”

No, everything will not be alright

Unless one takes some action

People might say it is to comfort

The sufferer that they say this lie

But it is a lie to cover up another lie

People want to get themselves off the hook

And leave the sufferer to suffer alone

So, start saying the truth to comfort the sufferer

Tell whatever they’re going through

Will be painful and will suck

But tell them that they need to act

To overcome this pain and suffering

Be there for them when they act

If you cannot, then don’t ever say “Everything will be alright”
