You shut yourself down
From the deafening cries of help
From the terrible plight of others
From the humiliation of the voiceless
From the insanity that’s out there
Only to feel comfortable
In your own little bubble
You think maybe you’re lucky
To live your life in an unbreakable bubble
But always remember,
Bubbles do burst
And when it does
You won’t succumb to the injuries
You would succumb to your guilt
