Fear of being vulnerable
Gives way to fear of failure
Which in turn instills fear of trying
Which holds one down in the known
Even if it is the abyss that’s known
The known gives a false comfort
Only to annihilate oneself
When the inevitable arrives
All these stem from the fear of losing Control
Knowing very well one cannot control
Almost anything in this absurd existence
Give away the insatiable need for control
For surprises await at the other end
