Certainties are humans’ weakness
They are certain that they are exceptional
Only to be shown their places
By microscopic organisms
They are certain that they can control nature
Only to be made helpless
In the presence of natural calamity
They are certain of their infallible intelligence
Only to feel stupid
By the silliest of errors
They are certain of their beliefs
Only to feel threatened
By the exposure to other beliefs
Only certainty that one ought to be reminded of
Is that one will die one day
All the other certainties are as absurd
As one’s own existence.
